Dear Capital Gains Tax Seminar registrant,
   
Join us on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, to learn more about the efforts to stop the implementation of the Capital Gains Tax. Our guest speaker will be The Honorable Rob McKenna, former two term Washington Attorney General and President of the National Association of Attorneys General, and current partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. General McKenna leads the state attorney general team in the firm’s Public Policy Group and is a member of the Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation practices.
   
The lawsuit to strike down the state’s new capital gains tax was filed in Douglas County and alleges that the legislative enactment is a stealthy and illegal income tax. Rob will update us on the long history of decisions by courts and voters being rejected by courts and voters in Washington State. This presentation promises to be insightful and informative.
   
In addition, Kevin Wallace, President – Wallace Properties and President of the Washington Business Properties Association, will provide a summary of WBPA activities over the past year and Chester Baldwin, JD, Executive Director of the WBPA, will identify the legislative strategies that will be the focus of the WBPA in the upcoming 2022 legislative session. William Shadbolt, Director of Legal Defense, will provide a review of the WBPA Legal Defense Fund.
